The overall hotel experience was excellent. The room was modern and clean, awesome shower! The bed was extremely comfortable and the pillows were the best. The front desk was always very helpful. When we wanted to watch a movie, they had a DVD player placed in the room for our use and a membership card ready for the local rental shop one block away. The neighborhood was quite nice; the square in front of the hotel has a tremendous farmers market on Sundays that should not be missed. The rest of the week, the frites stand offered the best fries in Brussels. There are plenty of restaurants on the square - would recommend Madonna, Spirit de Sal, and the fish restaurant right next door. The hotel bar was also very nice, but we didn't try their restaurant. Metro station is about a 5 minute walk (next to the EU parliament building) and the walk to Grand Place about 40 minutes, but plan on taking a little longer so you can enjoy a Belgian beer and / or waffle in Bruxelles park. We would definitely stay here again, away from the touristy bustle of Grand Place.
